After obtaining my M.Phil. in wildlife biology from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, I worked extensively on the conservation of the fauna of the Ganges & Brahmaputra flood plains. In 1993, joined the WII faculty & subsequently undertook training in geographical information systems (GIS) & remote sensing at Colorado State University, Fort Collins (U.S.A.). I am currently involved with projects dealing with biodiversity assessment at the landscape & species levels & studying habitat use patterns using remote sensing & GIS.
